I've spent my life on the highway
With one hand on the wheel.
Coffee running through my veins
To keep away the chill.
Lighting my next cigarette
With the butt of the one before.
When this cup and pack is gone
I'll stop and get some more.
Caffeine and nicotine
Are two things that I've found
Caffeine and nicotine
That never let me down.
They keep me company and keep me sane
As I drive from town to town.
Caffeine and nicotine
They never let me down.

Damaged Goods
Could have been, should have been
Was, but it's gone.
I lived my life like
A country song.
I gained it all, but I lost it just as fast.
Parties, money,
Cars and a boat
But I couldn't keep
My head afloat.
Oh, how I wish I could go and change my past.
I was in the right place
At the right time.
The way I lived should have
Been a crime.
But I couldn't see the trees even though I was in the woods.
I bet it all on the
Roll of the dice.
And things sure didn't
Turn out real nice.
Oh, there ain't nothing good about damaged goods.
Everything is gone
But the memories.
But now I'm in the woods
And can see the trees.
I've learned not to go all out when you catch a break.
I live my life
For others now.
Giving them strength
When they're in doubt.
It's so much better to give that it is to take.
I was in the right place
At the right time.
The way I lived should have
Been a crime.
But I couldn't see the trees even though I was in the woods.
I bet it all on the
Roll of the dice.
And things sure didn't
Turn out real nice.
Oh, there ain't nothing good about damaged goods.
Now I can see the trees while I'm in the woods.
Maybe I've found the good in damaged goods.
Was, but it's gone.
I lived my life like
A country song.
I gained it all, but I lost it just as fast.
